Nutritional Therapies for Increasing your Energy Level

It’s unfortunate to say that stress and fatigue have become incredibly common in our society.  Eight out of ten Americans say that they feel tired on a regular basis. Many of us feel tired most of the time and can’t seem to do anything about it. Some of us can’t sleep while some of us are just overly stressed out. Many of us even suffer from adrenal exhaustion. Overusing stimulants means dependency, irritability, and lethargy, further reducing energy in a downward spiral. Here are some healthy ways that nutrition and diet can help promote higher energy levels for us on a daily basis.

  • A high-energy diet should consist of 65-75% complex carbohydrates from fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes; 20-25% protein from nuts, seeds, whole grains, soy, kefir, seafood, and poultry; 10-15% fats from sources such as nut and seed oils, eggs, and dairy.
  • Some foods that fight fatigue are rich in potassium and magnesium. Foods that are loaded with vitamin B and C are great for boosting energy levels as well.
  • Reduce sugar, caffeine, and fatty dairy foods that promote clogging mucus.
  • Try a protein share every morning with added spirulina or bee pollen.
  • Drink plenty of quality water as the first sign of dehydration is fatigue.
  • Ginseng has been shown to be effective in increasing energy levels.
