Smoothie of the Day: Banana, Chia Seeds and Sunflower Smoothie

If you are in a hurry but need to fill up on something to eat, skip the fast-food and try this smoothie! It’s very filling and full of nutrients that will keep you energized for many hours. Sunflower seeds are a delicious way to incorporate vitamin E, vitamin B1, manganese, and selenium into your diet. These tasty seeds promote a healthy heart, a strong immune system, and a boost of brain power. Bananas are a great source of potassium and the added chia seeds gives this smoothie a nice boost of omega-3 fatty acids and protein. Enjoy!

Banana, Chia Seed and Sunflower Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • 1 C pure, freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 C coconut milk or almond milk
  • 1/4 C sunflower seeds, raw and unsalted
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds

Add all ingredients to your blender and process until smooth. Pour into glass and serve. Enjoy!
