I LOVE green smoothies and this recipe is becoming one of my favorites. It’s loaded with immune-boosting zinc and other trace minerals to promote optimal healing in the body. The avocado is a good source of vitamin K, a vitamin that is important in proper blood and bone function. Cucumbers are a concentrated source of many nutrients including vitamin A and manganese. I add a handful of watercress to give this smoothie a boost of vitamins A and C and a sprig of mint for manganese. I also add about one heaping tablespoon of chlorella! What is chlorella? Chlorella is an ancient single celled freshwater micro algae containing vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll and many other useful phytonutrients. Healing Chlorella Avocado Smoothie with Watercress
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/2 avocado (pit removed)
- 1 C plain coconut milk
- 1 1/2 Tbsp chlorella
- A handful of watercress
- A sprig of mint leaves
Add all of these ingredients to your blender and process until smooth. You may add some ice to the mix if you wish to drink it cold. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy!
