Authentic Product Pick: The Seaweed Bath Co.

What you put on your body is just as important as what you put inside it. That’s why I was super excited to discover the products from The Seaweed Bath Co.! This company was founded by Adam Grossman, a visionary who wanted to create seaweed-based products to help him control his dry skin. I’ve tried The Seaweed Bath Co. Body Cream (not pictured) and I love it! It’s full of amazing ingredients like argan oil, kukui oil, aloe, and shea butter.  This lotion doesn’t give your skin that greasy feeling, which is something I can’t stand. I was also excited to learn about their hair care products. I love the Argan Shampoo and Conditioner because they are paraben free, SLS free, and gluten free. The bladderwrack seaweed in these products is a fabulous ingredient to help promote beautiful and healthy hair. They also smell like lavender which is one of my favorite scents! Last but not least, I enjoyed the Detox Cellulite Soap. It has a clean, comforting scent and I love that it contains coffee and bladderwrack seaweed extract to help your skin look and feel it’s best. Do-it-Yourself Rosemary Hair Oil

I love to use rosemary when I cook different dishes. I find the scent to be very calming! I was excited when I found another way to use it, especially in conjunction with promoting hair health! This is a do-it-yourself hair treatment that uses rosemary as the primary ingredient. Rosemary is believed to stimulate hair growth, which makes this an exceptional “recipe” for hair health. It’s from a great book called Natural Beauty at Home.

Rosemary Hair Oil

  • 2 Tbsp. dried rosemary
  • 1/2 C olive oil

Mix together the rosemary and olive oil. Heat gently in the microwave or on the stove top. Do not boil. You can microwave on high for 2 minutes and it should be just fine. Filter out the solids in the oil by pouring through a funnel lined with a coffee filter. Pour into a clean bottle. Use by massaging a small amount into your scalp after shampooing and before going to bed.

Do-it-Yourself: Olive Oil Shampoo

Olive oil can have a postive impact on our health, even when we don’t eat it! This oil is a fantastic ingredient to making homemade shampoo. I use it once a week to keep my hair shiny and moisturized. Try it out and have fun using it!

Olive Oil Shampoo

  • 1/2 C water
  • 1/2 C olive oil
  • 1 C liquid shampoo

Blend together all ingredients until smooth. Pour the shampoo into a clean bottle with a tight-fitting lid. Shampoo your hair as you would normally and rinse well with cool water.

Do-it-yourself Nutritional Hair Conditioner

Is your hair brittle and dry? Do you wish it had a bit more shine and body to it? Why not try out this fun “recipe” for a nutritional hair condititioner!

Perfect Hair Conditioner

  • 1 tsp almond oil
  • 1 tsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

Mix all ingredients together and stir thoroughly. Massage into your hair and scalp. Wrap your hair in plastic wrap (or a shower cap) and leave the conditioner on your hair for 15 minutes. Shampoo your hair as usual and rinse well.

Do-it-Yourself Yogurt Body Treatment

During the winter months, our skin can take a beating. It gets so dry and dull looking! Try this fun recipe for a body treatment full of ingredients that will moisturize, cleanse, and condition your skin. If you have oily skin, it may be best to skip this recipe.

Yogurt Body Treatment

  • 2 C plain yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp wheat germ oil
  • 1 Tbsp light oil, such as almond oil
  • 1 Tbsp honey

Mix all ingredients. Slather all over your body, including the hair, and massage well. Rinse the body in a warm shower followed by a cold rinse, as cold as you can stand it.
